Details
This 2013 Van De Stadt is a well equipped and comfortable offshore yacht from a highly respected designer.
Built strongly in steel in Australia, the Van de Stadt 34 is known for its excellent sea behaviour and sailing characteristics.
'Compostela' has a simple and functional fit-out by an experienced offshore sailor. The hull and deck are lined to the waterline with closed-cell foam sheet insulation, Armaflex, that reduces temperature variations and the boat is snug and quiet.
There is accommodation for two in a private aft double bunk, two settee berths in the main cabin and a v-berth forward.
The galley has a Force 10 marine gas stove and oven and an Isotherm refrigerator system. The toilet is an electric Jabsco with a holding tank. The full-sized navigation table has a Raymarine GPS/chart plotter and VHF radio. Safety equipment includes a GME EPIRP with GPS.
Sail management is via Lewmar winches and clutches. The main sheet track is the width of the cockpit for full control and lazy jacks are fitted. The genoa is on a Harken furler and the cars are adjusted remotely. The halyard and reefing lines come back to the cockpit.
Steering is managed by a Raymarine Evolution auto pilot with a remote sensor and electronic compass display. There are two sets of ground tackle, including approximately 50 metres of chain for coral reef cruising, and a Lewmar electric windlass.
